Timescope films is the founder-led production company of director, cinematographer and creative producer David Orlando Kilagöz. Clients get direct access to one accountable partner — and a trusted network assembled precisely for the brief.

Born in Wuppertal, lived in Los Angeles and London, based in Cologne. David Orlando Kilagöz has worked across commercial film, television, music, branded content and live sports production since 2005.
With German, Kurdish and French roots and having studied art and film, he brings an international perspective to every project. His work moves between 16mm music films, global commercial launches, brand activations, beauty campaigns and vertical-first, platform-specific narratives. He develops ideas, directs and shoots, then assembles and leads the specialists each brief actually needs. He founded Timescope films in 2015.

Timescope develops and directs work with a distinct visual point of view: cinematic, contemporary and always in service of the idea — never a house style forced onto every brief. Every treatment and directing proposal is personally curated. If the creative fit is not there, we recommend finding another director rather than forcing the match. The portfolio is selective by design: it shows the work we want to be hired for without ruling out a strong corporate film or brand campaign.

Cinematography is matched to the story, format and visual ambition of each project. Timescope works with a broad network of cinematographers, each with a different eye and working style, and selects only the people who genuinely fit the brief. Crews and equipment scale from agile setups to fully equipped sets. We do not fill a role for convenience: if there is no honest creative match, we say so.

Production is hands-on, solution-driven and built around the real parameters of the job. We adapt scope, crew and resources to the available budget, protect the elements that matter most and make the strongest version possible — without compromising safety or production standards. One accountable lead keeps decisions direct, logistics controlled and every department moving toward the same result.

Post-production starts with clear communication before the shoot: deliverables, approvals, review stages and deadlines are agreed upfront. Editing, color, sound and VFX stay under one creative eye, with transparent revision rounds and consolidated feedback. The process remains flexible enough to solve problems, but deadlines are mandatory — once a delivery date is set, the production is finished on time.
